What does a Ram 1500 window sticker prove?

The Ram 1500 has a long trim ladder, and many trims share the same cab and bed. The original window sticker lists the model, cab, bed and drive, the trim and its Quick Order Package, the engine and transmission, each equipment group and option with its price, the destination charge and the total MSRP. It also shows EPA fuel economy and the assembly plant.

On a used 1500, it confirms the engine, the axle ratio, the towing and off-road groups, and whether options like air suspension came from the factory.

How do I read Ram 1500 trims and packages by generation?

DT (2019 model year on). The fifth-generation Ram 1500 was revealed in January 2018 as a 2019 model. It is built at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan. The older truck stayed on sale as the Ram 1500 Classic, so a 2019-or-later VIN may be either one.

Earlier DT engines were the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque, the 5.7L HEMI V8 with or without eTorque, and a 3.0L EcoDiesel. The TRX ran from 2021 to 2024 with a supercharged 6.2L HEMI rated at 702 hp. For 2025, Ram moved to the 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six. The standard Hurricane is rated at 420 hp and the high-output version at 540 hp. The high-output engine is standard on the RHO, Limited, Limited Longhorn and Tungsten.

How the sticker is laid out. The trim’s equipment is bundled into a Quick Order Package, printed as a three-character code with the trim name. Dealer listings for 2023 Rebels show 27W. Below that, Ram lists equipment groups and single options with prices. On a Rebel, the Level 1 and Level 2 Equipment Groups are the big-ticket lines. Codes shift between model years and engines, so treat 27W as an example.

How do I check a used Rebel or TRX?

Rebel and TRX trucks sell for more used, which makes them the most copied. Badges, grilles and wheels are easy to swap.

Rebel. Rebel is the off-road-styled 1500 built from the Big Horn. Check that the sticker shows the Rebel Quick Order Package. Then check which equipment group it has. A Level 2 Rebel lists more equipment than a Level 1 and cost more new. A Big Horn with a Rebel grille and badges won’t show either.

TRX. The sticker should list the TRX model and the supercharged 6.2L V8. Ram built the TRX for the 2021 to 2024 model years, ending with a 2024 Final Edition. Check the option lines too, since many TRX trucks were ordered with expensive groups.

RHO. From 2025, the RHO took the high-performance off-road slot with the high-output Hurricane. Its sticker shows that engine.

On any 1500, compare the engine line with the truck. A 5.7L HEMI with eTorque and one without are listed differently. The 3.0L EcoDiesel shows up as its own engine option. Fuel economy for each 1500 powertrain is on fueleconomy.gov.

Where are the VIN and paint code on a Ram 1500?

The VIN plate is on the dashboard at the driver’s side of the windshield. The VIN is also on the certification label in the driver’s door opening.

The paint code is on that door-opening label. Ram uses three-character Stellantis paint codes that usually start with P. Our Dodge paint code page covers the shared system.

How do I get a Ram 1500 window sticker by VIN?

Enter the 17-character VIN above. You get a free NHTSA decode, the trim, the recall count for that model and year, and a check for the original sticker. We tell you whether it’s on file before you pay. You can look up open recalls on the exact VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

When it is on file, the $9.99 Full Report adds the sticker PDF, every option with its price, the paint code where it can be matched, and recall details. If no sticker is on file, you’ll know before checkout.

Without a sticker, a Ram dealer can pull the original build and sales codes from the VIN. The current lineup is on ramtrucks.com. For HD trucks and other Ram models, see the Ram window sticker page. To see the truck’s original price line by line, read original MSRP and options by VIN.

Frequently asked questions

What does 27W mean on a Ram 1500 sticker?

It is the Quick Order Package. Dealer listings for 2023 Ram 1500 Rebels show Quick Order Package 27W Rebel, often with a Rebel Level 1 or Level 2 Equipment Group listed below it. Codes change between years, so read the one on your truck's sticker.

Which Ram 1500 generation is mine?

The DT generation started with the 2019 model year and is built at Sterling Heights, Michigan. The older body stayed on sale as the Ram 1500 Classic, so a 2019 or later VIN can be either truck.

How can I confirm a TRX is genuine?

The original sticker lists the TRX model and its supercharged 6.2L V8. The TRX was sold for the 2021 to 2024 model years, rated at 702 hp.

Does the 2025 Ram 1500 still have a HEMI?

For 2025, Ram's standard engine was the 3.0L Hurricane inline-six, with a high-output version on upper trims and the RHO. Check the engine line on the sticker for each truck.
