Original Buick window stickers come through our licensed data partner. A free check tells you whether one is on file for your VIN before you pay anything.

Where do I find my VIN?

Look for the Buick VIN through the windshield on the driver's side of the dash, or on the certification label by the driver's door.

Scan the VIN barcode

Point the camera at the barcode on the driver door jamb.

What does the original Buick sticker prove?

Buick sells a few models in several trims (Preferred, Sport Touring, Essence and the top Avenir trim), and the extra packages can add thousands to the price. The original window sticker lists the trim, every factory option and package with its price, the paint, the destination charge and the total MSRP. It’s the quickest way to confirm a used Enclave or Envision is the trim the seller says.

How do I check a Buick VIN here?

Type the VIN into the box at the top. NHTSA’s vPIC database decodes it for free, and you see the series, engine, drivetrain and plant, plus the recall count for that Buick model year. On the same screen we tell you whether our sticker partner holds the original label for that exact Enclave, Envision, Encore GX or Envista.

When it’s on file, the $9.99 Full Report adds the label itself, the RPO packages with their prices and the matched paint. When it isn’t, we say so and you don’t pay. A sticker we show as found but can’t deliver is refunded automatically.

What are the RPO codes on a Buick?

Buick is a GM brand, so it uses GM’s three-character Regular Production Option (RPO) codes for every option and package. On older models they’re printed on the Service Parts Identification label in the glove box. Our GM build sheet page explains how to read them.

Where were Buicks built?

Buick builds the Enclave in Lansing, Michigan. Several smaller Buicks sold in the U.S. are imported, for example from Korea or China. The first characters of the VIN show the country, and the free NHTSA decode names the plant.

Buick recalls

The free check shows how many NHTSA recall campaigns cover that model and year. To see whether a recall is still open on the exact car, enter the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. Open recalls are fixed free at any Buick or GMC dealer.

If there’s no Buick sticker on file

The free decode, trim and recall count still work for every Buick. For the paint, see the GM paint code guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Buick window sticker free?

The check is free: it tells you whether an original sticker is on file for that exact VIN. The sticker itself is part of the $9.99 Full Report. The NHTSA decode and recall count are always free.

How do I tell an Avenir from a regular Enclave?

Avenir is Buick's top trim. The original sticker names the trim and lists the Avenir package and its price. Badges can be added later, so the sticker is the better proof.

Where is the paint code on a Buick?

Before the 2018 model year, look for the Service Parts Identification label, usually in the glove box. From 2018, GM prints it under the QR code on the driver-side door pillar label. Our GM paint code guide shows both.
