Who runs it
StickerByVIN is a small, independent site run by a small team of people. We’re not a dealer, a data broker or a car manufacturer, and nobody pays us to rank a brand or a seller. We write and check every page ourselves, and each page shows the date it was last checked. A person, not a bot, reads every email sent to support@stickerbyvin.com.
What we do
You type in (or scan) a 17-character VIN. We show you, on one page:
- The original window sticker (Monroney label), as part of the $9.99 Full Report, but only when we get it from the manufacturer’s own system or a licensed sticker-data partner. We never recreate or “rebuild” a sticker and pass it off as the original.
- The build sheet: standard equipment, options and packages with their original prices, MSRP, destination charge, EPA fuel economy and assembly plant, read from the sticker in the Full Report. Without a sticker, we show the build data decoded by NHTSA and label it as decoded data.
- The paint code, in the Full Report, when the sticker names the color and our dataset has a confident match. Otherwise we tell you, free, where the paint-code label is on that brand’s vehicles.
- The trim, taken from the sticker when we have one and from the NHTSA decode when we don’t.
- The recall count for that make, model and year, with a link to check open recalls for the exact VIN at nhtsa.gov.
How we check the stickers
We test every sticker source before we turn it on. If a manufacturer blocks automated requests or a source stops returning real stickers, we switch it off rather than show you something unreliable.
What we won’t do
- Show a sticker as “original” unless it came from the manufacturer’s system or our licensed partner.
- Charge you for a sticker we can’t deliver. Before checkout we check that the data exists for your VIN, and if a paid report fails, we refund it.
- Publish fake reviews, made-up user counts or “as seen on” logos.

How we make money
The VIN lookup is free. We make money from the optional $9.99 Full Report. Nobody pays us to rank a brand or a seller. If we ever add affiliate links, each one will be labeled where it appears. See our refund policy.
