Is that Wrangler really a Rubicon?
Jeeps get modified more than almost anything else on the road. Lift kits, wheels, bumpers, badges and even hood decals are easy to add, so a Wrangler that looks like a Rubicon may have started life as a Sport. The original Monroney label lists the factory trim, standard equipment, each option group with its price, the destination charge, the total MSRP, EPA fuel economy and the assembly plant. It shows you what the factory built, separate from what owners added later.
What do 24S and 23E mean on a Jeep sticker?
Jeep uses the Stellantis ordering system:
- Quick Order Package. Each trim’s equipment is bundled into a package shown on the sticker as a three-character code plus a name. Dealer listings show “Quick Order Package 24S” on many mid-2010s Wrangler Sport models, and a 2025 Grand Cherokee L Limited sticker lists package 23E. A 2025 Grand Cherokee Laredo appears as 23A. Codes change between model years, so read the one on your Jeep’s own sticker.
- Option groups. Below the package, the sticker lists groups such as power and convenience bundles, plus stand-alone options, each with a price.
- Model codes. Jeep’s order guides identify each body and drivetrain with a model code. In the 2026 Grand Cherokee guide, for example, WLJP74 is the Limited 4x4 and WLTP74 the Limited 4x2.
- Sales codes. Every component, from the engine to the axle, has a three-character sales code. These are on the build sheet, not the sticker. Our Jeep build sheet page explains them.
What trims do the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee come in?
| Model | Common trims |
|---|---|
| Wrangler | Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon; 4xe plug-in hybrid versions |
| Gladiator | Pickup built on the Wrangler design |
| Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L | Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit, Trailhawk |
| Compass | Compact SUV |
| Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Wagoneer S | Full-size and electric SUVs |
The Wrangler and Grand Cherokee are where the sticker earns its keep: the trims share bodies, and the price gap between a base model and a top trim with option groups is large.
Where are the VIN and paint code on a Wrangler?
- VIN plate: read it through the windshield on the driver’s side of the Jeep’s dashboard. It is also on the label in the driver’s door opening.
- Paint code: on the label in the driver’s door opening, listed next to PAINT or PNT. Jeep paint codes are three characters, usually starting with P; Bright White is PW7.
The VIN doesn’t contain the paint code; our paint code guide explains why. If a Jeep has been repainted, the original sticker and the door label are your record of the factory color.
How do I get a Jeep window sticker by VIN?
Enter the Jeep’s 17-character VIN and our licensed window-sticker data partner checks for its original sticker. You see whether it’s on file before you spend anything. The NHTSA decode, trim and recall count are always free; open recalls on that exact VIN are listed at nhtsa.gov/recalls. With a sticker on file, $9.99 gets you the Full Report: the sticker PDF, the Quick Order Package and every option group with its price, the paint code where it can be matched, and full recall details. Whether a given Jeep is on file depends on its model year. If a sticker we listed as available doesn’t arrive, the refund is automatic.
If none is on file: a Jeep dealer’s service or parts department can pull the original build from the VIN, including the Quick Order Package and sales codes. Jeep customer care is listed on jeep.com and in the owner’s manual. The original purchase agreement, if the seller kept it, usually repeats the package lines. For the code-level view, use the Mopar build sheet guide.
